Bear Lake church reaches out to help community in time of need

BEAR LAKE TWP. — The members of the Bear Lake Christian Church believe they might have found another way to reach out to their community and help those in need, especially in a time of need.

The church recently set up its new “Share Shack” located in the church’s parking lot just off of M-72 on East Bear Lake Road, halfway between Grayling and Kalkaska.

Pastor Scott Hoffer said the idea for Share Shack came about during a recent board meeting. And, the purpose is a simple one — to provide another place where those in need can get food and other items at any time, for any reason and without having to meet any requirements.

“They can stop by and take what they need,” said Hoffer, who is better known as Pastor Scott.
