Blazers hold off Boyne City for big LMC win

KALKASKA — Kalkaska is proving that its early success boys basketball success isn’t a fluke.

The Blazers earned possibly their biggest win of the season on Friday, holding off Boyne City 54-52 to improve to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the Lake Michigan Conference.

Not only was the loss Boyne’s first in the LMC this season, but it left just Kalkaska and Traverse City St. Francis as the remaining undefeated teams in the conference. Kalkaska is the only team in the league that’s still undefeated overall.
