Central Lake VC president resigns, Tyler to take over

CENTRAL LAKE — Stating in a brief letter that he believed he had "lost the confidence in the majority of the Council to perform the duties as president," longtime Central Lake Village Council president Larry Eckhardt resigned last week.

Eckhardt's resignation letter, which was read to the Council during last week's monthly Village Council meeting on Wednesday, March 11, was received earlier that day, according to the Council, just a few hours after the arrival of a letter from former village clerk Racheal Antaya stating that Eckhardt had given her permission to issue payroll advances to herself in March of 2019, and that he had asked her "to keep this between us because he didn't want anyone else to know."

Both letters were read to the public during the meeting, which was chaired by president pro-tem Bill Chapman.
