Commissioner retains seat on Health Dept. board
BELLAIRE — During a passion-fueled meeting on Thursday night, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners narrowly voted down an effort to remove District 3 Commissioner Karen Bargy from her seat on the Health Dept. of Northwest Michigan's Board of Health.
Before that vote, much of the meeting was taken up by public comment, both in-person and online, about the recent mask mandate in area schools and Bargy's vote during a recent Health Dept. meeting against repealing that mandate.
Comments were split both for and against Bargy, a Commissioner for more than 10 years who has served the Health Dept. since 2011, and the mandate.
