DDA to receive Rotary Charities grant for clock tower, kiosk
KALKASKA – The Kalkaska Village Downtown Development Authority got some good news, some very good news recently.
Rotary Charities announced the recipients of its fall-cycle of grants totaling $749,000 on Monday, Dec. 12. That included a $75,000 grant to be awarded to the Kalkaska DDA which is set to help fund construction of a proposed “clock tower” and informational kiosk in downtown Kalkaska.
In September, the Kalkaska Village Council approved the DDA’s application to participate in the grant process by a 5-2 vote, as a way to obtain the needed funds for the project.
