DNR auctioning prime Torch Lake frontage

TORCH LAKE — An eight-acre piece of property with 200 feet of prime Torch Lake frontage is being sold at auction by the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources. 

In the news several times in the last 30 years, the property was purchased by the State of Michigan in the early ‘90s and was initially intended to be developed into a public boat launch. 

But after two unsuccessful efforts to do so and one court injunction filed against the DNR, the agency has instead opted to sell the property located on NW Torch Lake Drive between Barnes and McLachlan roads in a premier residential area of Torch Lake Township.
