Elks win second straight Cherry Ke Invite
ELK RAPIDS — A series of goose eggs littered the final score sheet of the annual Cherry Ke Invitational, held Saturday at Elk Rapids.
Fortunately for the Elks the zeros were in the right spots. The Elks played a scoreless tie against Cadillac in the final game, giving them the championship trophy for the second straight season. “We knew Cadillac needed to beat us to win. The Elks began with a 8-0 win over Tawas. Preston Ball had a hat trick and Josh Vandeveer, Mason Travis, Cooper Kerkhoff and Landen Knight each scored. Jack Spencer had zero saves in the Elk Rapids net.
