Ellsworth Pig Roast Festival celebrating 40 years

ELLWORTH — The 2021 Ellsworth Pig Roast will proceed on June 18-19 with a bit of a twist to accommodate social distancing.

The Ellsworth Pig Roast Festival celebrates the small town, rural roots of northwestern Michigan with food, music, outdoor, and mainly agriculture-based, activities.

Last year was supposed to be the 40^th anniversary of the small town celebration that was started in 1981 by a group of residents in an attempt to gather the locals for a day of free, wholesome community.

The Pig Roast became an immediate success and over the past four decades those that have grown up and moved elsewhere return to Ellsworth annually for the festival. The food, music and fun are all prepared locally.
