Festival of Trees: Popular display offers welcome prelude to holiday season
KALKASKA – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Northland Plaza! Volunteers have been bustling all week in the entryway between Northland and the Hair Depot to set up for the popular annual KAIR holiday fundraiser: Festival of Trees.
The event will begin on Saturday, Nov. 11 and be open every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 19. The fundraiser will kick off on Saturday with coffee and muffins provided by McDonald’s.
Each of the 32 trees available by raffle or silent auction is decorated with a theme. This year, to name just a few, there will be a flamingo tree, a turquoise and brown display, a 100 cars Hot Wheels exhibit, a golden tree, and even a Star Wars’ Darth Vader tree.
