Following Tippett ouster, Satterlee returns to Alba Schools

ALBA – Rich Satterlee wanted to be perfectly clear. 

"I am not making $70,000 a year with this job, which some apparently believe is what I will be paid, since that's what the former superintendent was making," Satterlee said Monday of his return to the Alba Public School District, which he retired from two years ago.

"Nor did my wife or I know she was breaking the law when she voted for me to be hired again as superintendent," he added.

Satterlee, a resident of Alba who served as superintendent of the school district from 2011 until 2015, was initially asked to return to Alba Public School in May after the Alba Board of Education decided not to renew the contract of former superintendent Doug Tippett.
