Guggemos is Review’s Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year
REGION — Kalkaska’s Tyler Guggemos is going places.
And he seems to be headed there in a hurry, judging by the way he’s running for the Blazers’ cross country team.
Guggemos didn’t just build on a stellar freshman season when he laced up his shoes this fall, he attacked the courses he ran with a vengeance and it led to an elite sophomore season. Suddenly, Guggemos isn’t just one of the best from a pool of talented distance runners in the area. This year he proved he is THE best. Out of a group of four individuals who qualified for the state finals this year, Guggemos was the one that came back from Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn with a medal. His times were the quickest of anyone and he still leaves a ton of potential in the tank for his next two years of high school.
