Hundreds come out for annual snow fun day at Springfield park

FIFE LAKE — Organizers of the annual Carly’s Hill Snow Fun Day Cardboard Classic celebrated yet another success, as dozens of unique and colorful entries flew downhill to the delight of hundreds of spectators who gathered at the Springfield Township Park and Recreation Area on Saturday, Jan. 25.

According to Tammie Budrow, park director and coordinator for the Cardboard Classic, the annual winter community gathering included 37 entries, with about 250 people flocking to the township park at the intersection of Creighton and Lund roads Saturday.

“The weather was great,” Budrow said. “I thought there would have been more people, really.

“Still, a great turnout. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.”
