Hurons’ power proves to be too much for Bellaire
BELLAIRE — It was by no means a cakewalk.
But over three games on Thursday, Nov. 9 the Rogers City volleyball team showed why it reached the state semifinals last year and was dangerous enough to defeat perennial powerhouse Leland in this year’s regional semifinals when it swept a feisty Bellaire squad 25-21, 25-14, 25-16 in the regional final on the Eagles’ home court.
Led by the hitting of junior Taylor Fleming and senior Kayla Rabeau the Hurons power at the net was too much for Bellaire to overcome on a night where the Eagles played inspired and, for much of the night, was up to the task of keeping Rogers City’s attack in check.
