Kalkaska native opens financial planning firm

KALKASKA – “People have been asking me why would I start a financial planning business in Kalkaska instead of a bigger town like Traverse City, but I have worked in many small towns over the years and have discovered that folks really appreciate the personal touch and convenience that a local firm can provide,” said Dawn Moses, founder and president of Sensible Financial Solutions, LLC.

Sensible Financial Solutions provides hourly-only financial planning and advice. Services include portfolio analysis, retirement planning and strategies, tax assistance, review of existing financial plans, risk tolerance, and suitability, as well as advice on many other financial concerns.

“I truly believe people deserve good, solid and honest financial advice whether they live in a big city or a smaller town,” said Moses. “It has been my experience that people can only make wise financial decisions for themselves if they have good information they can trust.”

According to the firm’s website, Moses “specializes in providing hourly, as-needed financial planning and investment advice to people from all walks of life – there are no income or net worth minimum requirements in order to become a client, nor are long-term contracts required.”

Moses explained hourly-only advice as the way an advisor is compensated.
