KCCOA to offer services at Civic Center during construction effort
KALKASKA – The Kalkaska County Commission on Aging isn’t moving, at least not permanently, but the senior agency will soon be setting up shop at a location other than its usual home, the Kalkaska Senior Center, which is currently under construction.
Starting in mid-November, a variety of services offered by the KCCOA will be performed at the Kalkaska Civic Center, located on Fairgrounds Drive by the Kaliseum Recreation Complex, as the senior center undergoes a $1.5-million remodeling project that started shortly before the Labor Day holiday weekend.
“We will soon be at the point where the interior changes will begin,” said KCCOA Director Jodi Willison. “We want to continue with as many of our programs as possible, so we are moving the senior center daily activities to the Civic Center beginning Nov. 13.”
