KPS amends budget, uses less of fund balance

KALKASKA — Sometimes, less is definitely more.
And, according to the Kalkaska Public Schools director of business finance, the local school district is doing well and won’t need to dip into its fund balance as much as expected for the current 2019-20 school year.
Seven months after approving a budget plan for 2019-20, the KPS Board of Education approved an “adjusted” budget at the board’s regular meeting Monday, Jan. 20.
