Lady Ironmen pad Ski Valley win total

MANCELONA — The Mancelona softball team added two wins to its league record on Monday, defeating Forest Area 15-0 and Central Lake 4-1.

The Lady Ironmen went ahead for good in the third inning of a tight game against the Trojans. Summer Robbins scattered five hits and fanned 12 for Mancelona (6-2, 3-1 SVC). She also added a double among three hits and had an RBI. Abby Dunne went 3 for 4 with a triple and two runs, Taryn Kraemer had two doubles and two RBIs, and Cora Jenkins had a hit and an RBI.

Gaby Fernandez, who split the pitching duties for Central Lake with Kaiya Willson, had a double for the Trojans’ offense. Paige Talbot, Alexis Cain, Willson and Kaitlyn Verellen added the other hits for the Trojans, with Verellen bringing in the team’s run.
