Library to host holocaust survivor
The Elk Rapids District Library will host Irene Miller, a holocaust survivor and author, for an evening program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the Historic Elk Rapids Town Hall. Miller will take attendees on a survival journey little known or talked about. She will show what it was like to sleep in the winter under an open sky, freeze in a Siberian labor camp, survive on boiled grass and onions in Uzbekistan and spend years in orphanages. Despite the trauma of her childhood, Miller has become a positive, creative and accomplished woman with a joy of living and a message of love to share. The event is free and all are welcome. To find out more, call the library at 231-264-9979.
