Kristen Meadows began dancing at the age of 4. Besides teaching and managing a studio downstate, she was recently tapped to serve on the faculty at Eastern Michigan University.

YIPSILANTI – Not long after she mastered walking, Kristen (Hallberg) Meadows took the next step – and started dancing. And she hasn’t stopped since.

Meadows, a 2005 graduate of Bellaire High School launched her talent as a 4-year-old at Alden Dance Academy and later at Dance Arts Academy in Traverse City. Following graduation, Meadows pursued her passion at Eastern Michigan University, majoring in dance.

Living in Manchester, Michigan with her husband, Darrek, Meadows has been teaching dance for more than a decade while serving as the manager at Dance Steps Studio in nearby Saline.

Recently, one of her dreams was realized when she was tapped this past fall to join EMU’s faculty as a lecturer in the Department of Music and Dance.
