Local realtors welcome recovery of real estate market

REGION – As the economy has continued to improve, so has northern Michigan’s real estate market, leading some local realtors to reach record sales marks over the last six months.

One of those benefiting from the upswing is Real Estate One’s Walt Mann.

“This may be my best first half of a year ever,” Mann said regarding property sales in Antrim County. “Unbelievably, we're once again becoming a sellers’ market. The key to selling real estate now is list, list, list!”

Kalkaska realtor Jeff Fitch, and his business partner Laura Grezner, are seeing the same patterns in Kalkaska County “for all real estate under $125,000.”

“We are in search of more listings under $125,000,” said Fitch, a longtime realtor with of Coldwell Banker Schmidt. “It doesn’t really matter what it is – whether it’s a house in the village or a home in a rural area – if it’s listed under $125,000 in this area, it will sell.”
