Local tree farm savors helping customers prepare for the holiday
ELLSWORTH – The first element visitors notice when they walk in the door of McPherson's Evergreens is the rich smell of a coniferous forest – the smell of Christmas. Watch as the bright red bows, ornaments and long silvery ribbons are added to Christmas wreaths, swags, centerpieces and garland, and there's no doubt that the small Ellsworth company is home to a Christmas fairyland.

With the addition of Christmas trees a few years later, a full-fledged business was off and running, and has been growing ever since. The farm now holds approximately 9,000 individual trees.
After Phyllis died in 2009, her husband Gordon and son Phil continued the business, now managed by Nichole Persons.
