Niepoth sets rebound record as Eagles roll

BELLAIRE — Bellaire senior Lexi Niepoth broke her own school record for rebounds in a single game when she grabbed 27 boards in the Eagles’ 54-21 win against Johannesburg-Lewiston on Friday.

Niepoth’s rebounding total, which was five more than the mark she established two years ago, was coupled with a team-high 24 points in a dominant performance.

“Lex was relentless and worked hard the entire game,” said Bellaire coach Brad Fischer. “She is very unselfish, so we are happy for her that she was able to do this. Lex controlled the game on both ends of the floor all night.”
