Organizers announce cancelation of 2021 Kalkaska Winterfest

KALKASKA — The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic might have claimed yet another victim, as organizers of the annual Kalkaska Winterfest, announced the cancellation of this year’s event, according to a post on the festival’s Facebook page.

The 2021 Kalkaska Winterfest, which includes sanctioned dog sled races and weight pull competitions, was slated for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20-21, in Kalkaska.

“After careful consideration, the board has come to the decision to cancel the 2021 Kalkaska Winterfest,” organizers stated in the announcement. “We apologize to everyone who was hoping to attend this year and we hope to see you in the future.”
