KALKASKA - “Christmas is a hard time for families and anyone who has lost someone to substance abuse,” said Suzanne Prentice, co-chair of the Live Well Kalkaska Substance Free Coalition. “I hope that by doing this we can help families heal. They need to know that somebody cares,” she added.

The 4th Annual Kalkaska County Serenity Vigil will take place at the Kalkaska Church of Christ on Monday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. The event is being promoted throughout the county.

“At the vigil, community members will get together and remember those we lost to substance abuse and those who are still struggling with it,” said Prentice.
