Sieting to appeal recall petition language approved by Election Commission

KALKASKA – The effort to recall the Kalkaska village president might have cleared one hurdle, but the embattled public official says he’s going to continue to fight to retain his seat as leader of the Kalkaska Village Council.

At a 20-minute hearing on Dec. 1, the Kalkaska County Election Commission unanimously approved, 3-0, language for a recall petition of Kalkaska Village President Jeff Sieting.

The hearing included public input by at least three local residents, all of whom voiced their support for Sieting.
