Spring Break at the ER Library

Wednesday, March 27, 2019 - 1:00pm to Saturday, March 30, 2019 - 1:00pm

The Elk Rapids District Library is hosting “Spring Break @ the Library,” a series of afternoon programs for kids, March 27-30, beginning at 1 p.m. each day. NASA STEM & Lego Challenge on March 27 will encourage kids to learn how eclipses work and introduce them to the moons of the solar system. Kids can make a “UV kid” for their backpack and create a lunar landscape with Legos. Sherman the Reading Dog will visit on March 28, and the library’s meeting room will become a cozy reading nook where attendees can read and create a craft with a “gentle giant” Bernese Mountain dog. Settle in for “Not Too Bored 4 Board Games” on March 29. A snack will be provided as well.
Finally, a young person’s edition of “Craft-a-teria: Tee & Sneaker Lab” will take place on March 30. Kids can create a T-shirt masterpiece with fabric makers and simple sewing, and re-lace their shoes with D.I.Y. shoelaces and unique lacing techniques.
All programs are free and designed for those ages 5 and up. Kids under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. For more info or to register for the programs, call the library at 231-264-9979
