BELLAIRE – Two more suspects, including a Central Lake Township official, have been charged in connection with a raid on a suspected drug house in Central Lake.

Heather Springstead, 39, of Central Lake, was arraigned in Antrim County's 86th District Court last Friday, Jan. 19 on one charge of controlled substance – maintaining a drug house, along with Michael Downs, 38, of Morley, who was charged with one count of conspiracy to deliver/manufacture cocaine, heroin or another narcotic less than 50 grams and habitual offender - fourth notice.

Christopher Ries, 40, of Central Lake, and Elbert Tomlinson, 47, of Detroit, were arrested on Jan. 10 on multiple drug charges after the Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT) reportedly received an anonymous tip that the two men, both on parole, were selling narcotics from a home in the Central Lake area.

A raid on the home revealed a substantial quantity of packaged heroin, a small amount of marijuana, narcotics paraphernalia and money that police believe to be proceeds from drug sales.

Ries was charged with delivery and manufacturing less than 50 grams and maintaining a drug house. Tomlinson was charged with two counts of delivery and manufacturing less than 50 grams.
