Trojans chance at victory dashed by late Pellston touchdown
CENTRAL LAKE — Elation and heartbreak.
The Central Lake-Ellsworth football team experienced both in the final moments of Friday night’s game against Pellston, which took a win that was in the Trojans’ grasp after scoring a touchdown with 23 seconds remaining to give the Hornets a 44-40 victory.
Pellston’s Garrett Cameron surged across the goal line on a 7-yard run, completing a quick 5-play, 85-yard drive that came just 1:11 after Central Lake-Ellsworth had taken the lead on Brayden Steenwyk’s 9-yard scoring run.
