Trojans storm past Patriots in Homecoming victory

CENTRAL LAKE — Four weeks of searching for its first win came to an end for the Central Lake-Ellsworth football team.

The Trojans took out their frustrations on Charlton Heston Academy for Saturday’s Homecoming contest, steamrolling the Patriots for a 46-6 victory.

Brayden Steenwyk threw for 187 yards and four touchdowns — two to Kelan Pletcher, and one each to Garrison Barrett and Logan Eckhardt. Nick Dawson and Eckhardt also scored rushing touchdowns as Central Lake-Ellsworth had its offense clicking for the second week in a row. The Trojans racked up 354 total yards and scored three times in the second quarter to blow the game wide open.
