Voters to face plethora of decisions when casting ballots Aug. 4

KALKASKA — Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Voters across Kalkaska County might plan on having to make quite a few of them when they step up to the voting booth during the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Among the decisions will be which candidates for the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners, along with other individuals seating county office, will advance to the Nov. 3 general election. More than 20 individuals tossed their names in the proverbial hat in seeking various positions up for grabs this fall.

Most of the competition is over the seven seats on the county board, where all but one current board member filed to seek re-election.

First-term Commissioner Leigh Ngirarsaol for District No. 2, which includes Coldsprings and Rapid River Townships, did not file to run for a second term. However, it might be the most sought-after seat in the upcoming election cycle.
