Acklers lead the way in win playoff win over Manistique

MANCELONA — If your last name was Ackler you had a nose for the end zone during Friday night’s Division 7 playoff football opener against Manistique.

Adam Ackler scored three times — on runs of 4 and 36 yards, and on a 70-yard pass — and Justin Ackler added two more touchdowns — with a 5-yarder and a 13-yarder — as they accounted for each Mancelona touchdown in a 36-12 win over the Emeralds.

Adam Ackler carried the ball 10 times for 86 yards, Justin Ackler had 14 carries for 81 yards and Mason Crandall toted the ball 16 times for 69 yards as the Ironmen ground attack did its job to march the offense.
