Bellaire picks up win over Mancelona

MANCELONA — The Mancelona girls basketball team had no answer for Bellaire’s Charlie Boyce or Jacey Somers on Friday.

Boyce led all scorers with 23 points and Somers added 14 as that dynamic duo played a large offensive role in the Eagles’ 48-25 win.

Boyce attacked the basket on drives or was able to get to the hoop after turnovers, providing Bellaire with more than enough offense early and often. She also got to the free throw line and converted, sinking all nine of her attempts. Somers was just as much of a factor as the Lady ironmen had no one to match up with her when she took opponents one-on-one.
