Bellaire takes Homecoming thriller over rival Trojans

BELLAIRE — The M-88 trophy will reside in Bellaire for another year.

The Eagles posted their first back-to-back wins over their rivals from Central Lake-Ellsworth since 2003-04 when they held on for a 32-30 win over the Trojans in a thrilling Homecoming football game on Friday.

Bellaire (1-3) stopped the Trojans at the Eagles’ 5-yard line with 19 seconds to go to sew up the victory in a wild game that featured four lead changes in the second half as the two teams alternated touchdowns in an unforgettable and tense contest that came down to the wire.
