Bellaire wins third straight, closes in on playoff berth

BELLAIRE — The Bellaire football team crept closer to securing a spot in the playoffs when it pounded Charleton Heston Academy 67-0 on Friday in the Eagles’ home finale of the season.

The win was the third consecutive for the Eagles (4-4), who would reach the playoffs for the first time since 2014 if they can knock off Onaway (3-5) to close the regular season this Friday.

Bellaire entered the game against Heston Academy as heavy favorites and it did nothing to create any doubt when it shot out to a 33-0 lead after the first quarter. The Eagles scored a season-high 54 points by the end of the first half.
