Blazers hit reset with new girls basketball coach
KALKASKA — New Kalkaska girls basketball coach Bryan Hawkins is in place with the goal of building up all levels of the Blazers’ program, hoping to restore it to its not-so-long-ago glory days.
“We’re in the mode of rebuilding,” said Hawkins. “We have a lot of work to do at a lot of different levels of our program, with a focus on just overall getting better.”
Kalkaska slumped to a 4-11 record last season, the second of two straight seasons under .500, and finished in the bottom half of a tough Lake Michigan Conference.
