Blazers, Vikes take first at meet
KALKASKA — The Kalkaska boys and the Grayling girls stood out above the crowd on a tough and hilly Kalkaska Invitational cross country meet on Tuesday at Grandview Golf Course.
The Blazers edged Grayling by two points for first on the boys side, boosted by five runners finishing in the top 10. Kalkaska scored 30 points, with Grayling scoring 32. Elk Rapids was third with 67.
Similarly, Grayling had five of the top 10 girls finishers but the Vikings ran away with the team competition, scoring 25 points. Kalkaska was second with 53 and Bellaire took third with 65.
