Central Lake takes girls basketball opener over GTA

TRAVERSE CITY — The Central Lake girls basketball team put itself right to the test to see where it stands this year.

The early returns were good for the Trojans on Friday night as they pulled out a gutsy 48-41 win over Grand Traverse Academy to kick off the new season.

“I thought our girls really battled well,” said Central Lake coach Jim McMichael. “They never quit. They have a lot of fight in them.”
