Central Lake tops Bellaire for first time since 2016
CENTRAL LAKE — The Central Lake girls basketball team used a tough defensive performance to beat Bellaire 27-21 on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The win was the Trojans’ first over the Eagles since Feb. 18, 2016, snapping a streak of 12 straight losses to Bellaire.
Central Lake held Bellaire to two points in the first quarter, taking a 7-2 advantage. The Trojans were still in front at the half, 10-8, as both teams struggled to get going offensively. It remained a two-point game, 16-14, after the third quarter and the Trojans were able to seize the victory in the final period.
