BELLAIRE — During its last meeting of 2020 on Thursday, Dec. 17, held via Zoom, Antrim County's Board of Commissioners took care of a number of business matters after a lengthy public comment period and said farewell to a retiring Commissioner.

Commission Chair Ed Boettcher thanked District 1 Commissioner David Heeres after the nine-member board unanimously approved a resolution of appreciation, noting Heeres’ dedicated service of six years to the county

"We'll miss you," Boettcher said, to which Heeres replied, "I'll miss you guys, too."

Taking Heeres' seat in January will be Jarris Rubingh, of Banks Township, who will be given the oath of office at the Commissioners' annual organizational meeting to be held on Jan. 4, 2021.
