BELLAIRE – Lauren Richards and Kari Sieniarecki both say that they've landed their dream jobs, doing what they love to do – working with animals.

Sieniarecki and Richards are Antrim County's new Animal Control officers.

"I have always had a passion for animals, and worked for two different veterinary clinics," said Sieniarecki, a 35-year resident of Kearney Township who started her new position on May 11.

Most recently a school bus driver for Mancelona Public Schools, Sieniarecki has five horses, two dogs, and two cats at home. Married, she also has two grown children and one grandchild.

"So far, I love this job," she said with a smile last week.

Lauren Richards, who was born and raised in Boyne City – where she still lives – said the same of her daily tasks of caring for and finding homes for Antrim County's stray animals.

"I've always loved being around animals, and this is my dream job," stated Richards, who graduated from North Central Michigan College in Petoskey this spring with an associate’s degree in criminal justice.
