ELK RAPIDS- Four Elk Rapids girls soccer players have earned all-state recognition in Division 4.

Kendall Brown made all state second team as a defender, goalie Drew Antcliff and forward Olivia Travis were awarded all-state third team and Jenna Wilkinson earned all-state honorable mention as a midfielder.

The Elk Rapids varsity team finished the season 8-3-1 in the Lake Michigan Conference, which was good for third place and was a half-game back from second place. The squad finished with an overall record of 15-8-1, earning its fourth consecutive district title.

The Elks allowed 17 goals in 23 games, won 14 games by shutout, and scored 53 goals on offense.

“This season took a lot of teamwork on the defensive side as well as on offense, which is evidenced by 15 of the 16 varsity players scoring 50 of our 53 goals and two JV players scoring the other three goals when they were brought up for varsity games,” said Elk Rapids head soccer coach Andrea Krakow.
