Ellsworth falls to Maple City Glen Lake in baseball regional

MAPLE CITY — The Ellsworth baseball team was back in regional play for the first time since 2002 on Wednesday, June 9 when it took on Maple City Glen Lake.

The Lancers’ return to the regional was a short stay as Glen Lake eliminated the Lancers 10-0 in five innings.

Glen Lake pitcher Ryan Flores was dominant, holding the Lancers without a hit while striking out 10. Flores allowed just one baserunner, issuing a walk to Jacob Jenuwine early in the game. The few times Ellsworth was able to put a hard-hit ball into play, Glen Lake’s defense was up to the task and made the plays it needed to in order to hold the Lancers at bay.
