Ellsworth sweeps Bellaire at home

ELLSWORTH — Defensive miscues aside, the Ellsworth softball team had a happy home opener on Wednesday, April 19 as it swept two games from Bellaire, 21-11 and 9-8.
The Lancers (3-5) bats were on fire in the opening game, collecting 22 hits. Abby Nachazel was 4-for-4 with eight RBIs and Olivia Spence went 3 for 3 with five RBIs. But it didn’t end there for Ellsworth. Sophie Sommer went 3 for 3, Mckenzie Essenberg went 2 for 2 and scored four runs, and Samantha Miller chipped in by going 2 for 2 with three runs.
Nachazel got the win, striking out 11.
