Fife Lake man turns yard into Christmas wonderland

FIFE LAKE — An illuminating light display, heated tent and even visits from Santa Claus and the Grinch.

Yes, Fife Lake resident Joe Dake has created quite the Christmas wonderland at his home on M-66, putting up a holiday decoration display that has brought a plethora of visitors from around the area to check out the colossal set up.

Dake, who has lived in Fife Lake all his life, says he used to put up some Christmas decorations when his children were growing up, but got out of the routine for a few years. Then, a couple years ago his girlfriend posed the idea of putting up some lights again. The display of epic proportions was what followed.

“This will be the second year that I’ve really done it like this,” said Dake. “I’ve always decorated but nothing to this extreme.”
