Former Elk Rapids star Cole Walker steps up for Bulldogs

BIG RAPIDS — Ferris State ended the basketball season this year with a record of 20-12, notching its fifth straight 20-win season, but narrowly missed the NCAA Division II tournament.

This was disappointing as a postseason invite would have been the fifth straight for the Bulldogs, and especially disappointing as they were the defending Division II national champions, winning it all with a 38-1 record in 2018.

This year was still a good season by most teams’ standards, as going into the season the Bulldogs had a target on their back as the defending champions. Standing out this year was the improved play of Cole Walker, Ferris State junior forward and Elk Rapids alumnus.
