GNA boys finish as runners up at Division 2 state meet

BELLAIRE — The Great North Alpine boys ski team took home another runner-up trophy on Monday.
The local co-op squad that includes Elk Rapids, Traverse City St. Francis and Central Lake, finished second for the third year in a row at the Division 2 state finals held at Schuss Mountain.
GNA was able to take second to eight-time reigning state champion Petoskey after finishing second in giant slalom and third in slalom for a total of 106 points. The powerhouse Northmen, who tied a state record for the most consecutive downhill skiing state championships, had 82.5 points. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep was third with 132.
