FIFE LAKE — Forest Area is two months from playing its first game this year, but the season already looks a lot different for the Warriors.

After starting last season as a bit of an underdog, before claiming Ski Valley Conference and district championships, Forest Area comes into 2017 with a loftier profile. In fact, the Warriors were among the schools to make the top 20 of Michigan High School Volleyball Insider’s Way-Too-Early Class D rankings.

The Warriors checked in at No. 17 in the preseason poll.
