Ironmen split two with East Jordan at Pit Spitters home field

TRAVERSE CITY — The Mancelona baseball team took the field at the Traverse City Pit Spitters’ Turtle Creek Stadium for a doubleheader against East Jordan on Friday, splitting the two games against the Red Devils.
Mancelona dominated the opening game for a 17-2 win, but East Jordan came back and edged the Ironmen 7-6 in the nightcap.
Mancelona trailed 2-1 in the first game but exploded for 11 runs in the third inning to turn the game into a rout. Justin Ackler and Trace Miller had a team-leading three hits apiece for the Ironmen. Jason Kihn smacked two home runs and drove in a team-best four RBIs. Ackler and Jayden Alfred had three RBIs each.
