Kalkaska hands Bellaire its first loss
KALKASKA — Kalkaska and Bellaire both came into Friday’s girls basketball game unbeaten, but the Blazers were the ones that remained that way after a 58-39 win that was closer than the final score would indicate.
Kalkaska’s press proved to be the difference as the Blazers were able to force turnovers and wear down the Eagles over the entirety of the game.
“I was pleased with the way they rotated in the press,” Kalkaska coach Dave Dalton said of his team. “We kept constant pressure. It’s hard when we keep coming at you for 32 minutes.”
