KPS officials to consider options to recognize Class of 2020

KALKASKA — The senior class at Kalkaska High School might have had its final year forever altered by the COVID-19 pandemic, but local school officials are considering options to recognize the outgoing Class of 2020 before its members move on to other opportunities.

At the May 18 meeting of the Kalkaska Public Schools Board of Education, KHS principal Chuck Sorentino said a “graduation committee” would be meeting on June 9 to consider several potential options for possible graduation ceremonies.

“The whole agenda of the meeting would be to make a decision,” Sorentino said. “That is our decision date.”
